The United Senate met and debated the Ethics Committee Subpoena of Senator Packwood’s Diaries. Senator Packwood (R-OR), is being investigated on allegations that he made unwanted sexual advanced against a number of women. Senator Packwood kept diaries dating back to 1969 with over 8000 pages. He has turned over some of the entries to the diaries but refused to turn over anymore. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) made a compromise amendment to turn over additional diaries to the former Judge and former Solicitor General Kenneth Star, who would look through the diaries and turn over any relevant materials to the Ethics Committee. close
