Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stressed that the U.S. economy is not in a recession. Her comments came during a news conference following a new report showing the economy shrank in the second quarter of 2022. Secretary Yellen also called on Congress to approve the recently announced reconciliation deal between Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), adding that the bill would help with inflationary pressures being felt by Americans. close
