Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Philip Breedlove (retired) said Ukraine’s “offensive can have a major effect on this war,” if the U.S. and NATO provide Ukraine with what it needs to counter Russian aggression. His remarks came as he joined other international security and military policy experts, including former Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Zagorodnyuk (2019-20), for an Atlantic Council virtual discussion on Ukraine’s military strategy. The panelists talked about several topics, including the use of disinformation, the need for increased military aid to Ukraine, geographical impacts to military strategy, which country has the military advantage, and the concerns around the shelling near nuclear power plants. close
