The U.S. House Office of Congressional Ethics Staff Director and Chief Counsel Omar Ashmawy, Chair Paul Vinovich, and Co-Chair Mike Barnes testified before the House Administration Oversight Subcommittee. They discussed the code of conduct for staff within the office, how the ethics office determines which cases to investigate, and politically-motivated complaints received by the office. This is the first time the independent office had been subject to an oversight hearing. close
