President Biden delivered remarks at the Truman Civil Rights Symposium, hosted by the Truman Library Institute in Washington, D.C. He touted the accomplishments of minorities in the military and applauded former President Harry S. Truman for passing Executive Order 9981, which prohibited discrimination in the military based on race, color, religion, or national origin. In addition, President Biden criticized Senate Republicans and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) for their blockade of military promotions over Pentagon abortion access policies. close
