National security and health policy advocates discussed the possible use of the military to combat the illegal flow of fentanyl at the southern border during a conversation hosted by the Cato Institute. Several topics were addressed, including proposed Republican legislation in Congress that would authorize military force to target Mexican cartels and the consequences of such military intervention in Mexico. The panelists agreed the use of the military is misguided and would be perceived as a war on the Mexican people. close
