Assistant Education Secretary for Civil Rights Catherine Lhamon took part in a Center for American Progress discussion on education policy and civil rights. Several topics were addressed, including how best to address discrimination in the classroom, the role of the Office of Civil Rights, and the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom. They also addressed the impact of the recent Supreme Court decisions in two admissions-related cases which struck down affirmative action at colleges and universities. close
