Middle East policy analysts examined the recent attack by Hamas against Israel and how it impacts U.S. policy in the region during a virtual conversation hosted by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Robert Satloff, director of the institute, said “Hamas did not start this to create a two-state solution,” but to “stop the march toward regional peace.” Several topics were discussed, including Israel’s response to Hamas, Iran’s potential role in the attack, the history of Hamas, and how the U.S. and regional allies might respond in the region. close
