At the State Department, Secretary Blinken briefed reporters on the release of two Americans who were taken hostage by Hamas during the October 7 terrorist attack against Israel. The former hostages were released into Israeli custody. Also, Secretary Blinken reported that 10 additional Americans remained unaccounted for--some of whom were hostages--and there were about 200 other hostages from various nations. He thanked the government of Qatar for its assistance in the matter. The secretary also said that delivering humanitarian aid into Gaza was another top priority. close
