Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) and joined a panel of activists and policy advocates for a discussion on the impact of the war in Ukraine on world hunger and food insecurity during the annual Halifax International Security Forum in Nova Scotia. Several topics were addressed, including the role of the U.S., the history of the weaponization of food used against Ukraine, and solutions to mitigate hunger around the world. Cindy McCain, the executive director of the U.N. World Food Programme, also made remarks. close
