2024 Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump delivered remarks in Ankeny, Iowa, ahead of the state’s presidential caucuses that happen on January 15. He addressed Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) choosing to endorse his fellow presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) over him. “I believe in loyalty,” he said, claiming he previously endorsed her bid for governor and that he maintained the Iowa caucuses' first-in-the-nation status while he was president. He also discussed his concerns with electric vehicles, reminisced about being endorsed by the late Indiana University basketball coach Bob Knight, and repeated his disproven claim that the 2020 presidential election was rigged against him.
