Since February, Senator Tuberville had been blocking over 400 military promotions because of his objection to the Pentagon’s abortion policy. He removed his objection to the other nominations earlier in December. Members also confirmed three other nominations: Christopher Fonzone, assistant attorney general for legal counsel; Sara Hill, U.S. District Court judge for Northern Oklahoma; and Elizabeth Richard, State Department coordinator for counterterrorism.
