“Republicans can’t count their own votes, so instead, they count on us,” said Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) as she and House Democratic leadership discussed their legislative agenda during a news conference at their party’s policy retreat in Leesburg, Virginia. They contrasted their agenda with that of House Republicans, calling them the “most extreme” and “least productive” House Republican majority. They also touted their accomplishments on infrastructure investments, the economy, jobs, and student loan forgiveness. When asked about national security and foreign aid, Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) urged Republicans to “abandon the chaos and work together with House Democrats, in common sense fashion.” close
