The speaker made the remarks during a weekly leadership news conference on the House agenda. He also responded to former President Trump’s statement earlier in the day encouraging Republican lawmakers to vote against a proposal to reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). The speaker said the FISA bill had numerous reforms that would address the former president’s concerns with the program.
