President Bill Clinton today spoke to a multinational audience of future European leaders gathered at the Hotel De Ville in Brussels. The President talked of the importance of transatlantic security. The President said the threat to “our East” is not advancing armies but creeping instability, and that countering that threat requires military security and the promotion of democratic and economic renewal. On the Partnership for Peace, the President stated that it will advance a process of evolution for NATO’s formal enlargement. close
