A news conference was held by several members of congress concerning US-JAPAN trade relations.

Representatives Richard Gephardt(D-MS) and Senator Jay Rockefeller(D-WV) introduced legislation that would have the US Commerce Dept.set import targets and subject Japan to sanctions if the goals are not met.
