Robert Strauss, who served as President George H.W. Bush’s Ambassador to Russia, 1991-1993, spoke at a luncheon sponsored by the Womens National Democratic Club. He spoke on the topic: "Life of a Political Insider". Mr. Strauss chaired the Democratic National Committee in the mid 1970's, and later headed up President Jimmy Carter’s reelection campaign. He was also the president’s personal representative for Middle East negotiations from 1979 to 1981. President George H.W. Bush appointed him as Ambassador to Moscow in 1991. close
