Representative Ron Wyden (D-OR) discussed a proposal by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) to allow U.S. citizens to take part in the same health care plan that members of Congress utilize. Jack Faris, president of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, referred to this as “a last ditch effort to make the president’s plan more palatable.” The two men discussed President Bill Clinton’s health care reform proposals among other topics.
