The U.S. House of Representatives met and took up consideration of a number of bills which they suspended the rules to consider the legislation passed. The bills included the naming of a number of post offices, the use of the Capitol for a soap box derby, and the naming of several courthouses. The House engaged in a period of Special Orders allowing members time to speak on a number of topics. The House then stood in recess until 4:15pm. close
