The House debated and approved a $156 million funding bill for House committees for the next two years. The amount is 30 percent that the prior Congress; there were three few House committees in this session than in the last. Members also began debate on a bill to rescind or cancel $17 billion in budget spending. The measure also sends $5 billion to California for disaster relief. close
