Before leaving for Havre de Grace, Maryland for an Earth Day event, President Bill Clinton approached a microphone outside the White House to talk with reporters about the April 19 bombing in Oklahoma City. He announced that he will declare Sunday, April 23 a national day of mourning for bomb victims and said he and Mrs. Clinton would travel to Oklahoma City to participate in a memorial service. He declined to answer reporters' questions about the status of the FBI investigation into the bombing. close
