Committee members continued their investigation into communications between Department of the Treasury officials and the White House concerning the investigation into Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan. Lloyd Cutler, former White House Counsel, admitted that he may have exaggerated during his 1994 testimony before the committee when he stated that the Office of Government Ethics had found no violations by White House officials. However, he still emphasized that his own investigation had found no such violations. close
