Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Alan Greenblatt talked about his article on internal struggles within the Republican Party and other issues. In the newspaper roundtable, Joyce Campbell and Mary Ellen Glynn, who were deputy press secretaries for Senator Dole and President Clinton respectively, talked about current issues, including presidential judicial appointments and Mary Matalin’s decision not to help direct the Dole presidential campaign. Megan Liberman talked about an article on “Generation X” views on politics. close
