Panelists, including Bernard Ingham, Former Press Secretary to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher discussed the relationship between the press and press officers of the U.K. and U.S. government. They examined how reporters try to get the most out of press officials and in turn how government press officials try to use the media to promote a positive view of the government and its policies among the public. This was part of a symposium at University of London entitled, “The New World Order: The Role of the Media in the United States and the United Kingdom.” close
