Fernando Remirez de Estenoz spoke about how Cuba has coped with the end of the Cold War by making many economic reforms to help Cuban companies and encourage foreign investment. He also outlined the various social services offered by the Cuban government to all citizens. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience, especially on recent tensions in U.S.-Cuba relations. Mr. Remirez was the informal Cuban ambassador to the U.S. attached to the Swiss Embassy. close
