President Clinton and Vice President Gore, administration officials and television industry representatives discussed how the industry can broaden the appeal of children’s educational programming to both children and the television industry. They focused on how children can learn from television, what entertaining and educational shows look like and how the industry can be encouraged to do more educational programming. In his opening remarks, President Clinton announced that he is asking the Federal Communications Commission to require broadcasters to air a minimum of three hours of children’s educational programming. close
