Members of Congress participated in a roundtable discussion about congressional civility and their experiences at the bipartisan congressional retreat in March organized by Reps. Skaggs and LaHood. They said that the 200 members who attended got to know each other much better during that weekend, as well as learning more about the history of their institution. Questions from the audience of newspaper editors included whether the media have a role in increasing the civility of public discourse. close
