The U.S. House of Representatives reconvened and, after a period One Minute Speeches, during which time members could speak on any topic, they took up a number of legislative measures. They suspended the rules to pass measures on a number of topics such as amending the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to encourage retirement income savings and others. Members also debated the International Dolphin Conservation Program Act. The Act passed by a yea-and-nay vote of 262 yeas to 166 nays. At the end of legislative business for the day the House adjourned until Tuesday, May 27th. close
