Mr. Hiestand and Mr. Smith discuss the law, education and teaching methods of journalism and asked if the academy contributes to bad journalism. Mr. Hiestand gives legal advice to student journalists around the country and he said that he makes sure everyone knows what their free expressions are and what the limits are. Mr. Smith argued that the government is abusing its power by implementing programs that are against the wishes of mainstream society and are ignored by the media. Following their presentations, Mr. Hiestand and Mr. Smith took questions from the audience. close
