In the ministerial level Security Council meeting, a resolution on Syrian involvement in the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Hariri was discussed. The Security Council voted unanimously to adopt the resolution requiring full cooperation by Syria in and investigation into the assassination, and threatened further action for failures to comply. The resolution also required Syria to detain anyone the U.N. investigators considered a suspect and let investigators determine the location and conditions under which the individual would be questioned. It also would freeze assets and impose a travel ban on anyone identified as a suspect by the commission. close
