President Obama began his first Twitter town hall meeting by sending out a tweet, “In order to reduce the deficit, what costs would you cut and what investments would you keep?” He said it was the first live tweet sent by a sitting president. For the remainder of the time he responded to selected questions that were representative of the most popular topics submitted online, which included jobs and the economy. He answered the questions verbally in front of a live audience in the White House East Room. close
