Senate Governmental Affairs Subcommittee members heard testimony regarding fraud in the Medicare program from members of Congress, and staff from the FBI, Government Accountability Office, and Medicare Financing Administration. Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) advocated for a hotline number to appear on Medicare checks that would cut down on waste abuse within the Medicare bureaucracy.
