Professor McDonald talked about his book Russell Kirk and the Age of Ideology, published by University of Missouri Press, about the life and political legacy of Russell Kirk. Mr. Kirk was a political philosopher whose books, The Conservative Mind and A Program for Conservatives have been considered influential works of modern conservative ideology. Mr. Kirk pushed for a change in conservative ideology from the laissez-fair libertarianism toward social issues of morals and community. W. Wesley McDonald was formerly a research assistant for Russell Kirk. Following his remarks he answered questions from students. close
