Lynne Cheney talked to students from Francis Scott Key Elementary School about some of the books chosen by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of its continuing We the People series. The series is part of the NEH’s effort to promote the study of American history. The latest theme for the National Endowment for the Humanities' We the People series is “freedom.” The fifteen books selected will be made available to schools and libraries around the country. Mrs. Cheney answered questions from the students following her presentation. Due to technical difficulties, NEH Chairman Bruce Cole’s remarks introducing the We the People initiative will not be aired. close
