The panelists described domestic politics in Iran and the current Iranian leadership’s role in wanting nuclear programs. Topics included the political consolidation of the Iranian mullahs, the failure of Europe and the U.S. to develop a coherent policy toward Iran, and the power of the Revolutionary Guard (the military). McFaul commented on Mr. Milani’s presentation and criticized President Bush’s foreign policy toward Iran in the past four years. The panelists then answered audience members' questions. close
