Andrew Carroll talked about the book he edited Behind the Lines: Powerful and Revealing American and Foreign War Letters -- and One Man’s Search to Find Them, published by Scribner. Mr. Carroll spent three years traveling through the U.S. and thirty-five other countries in search of war correspondence. This collection contains 200 previously unpublished letters from every major war in American history. He discussed his experiences in Iraq as well as the lives of the writers whose letters were used. Following his presentation, Mr. Carroll responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.
