Diane Wilson talked about her book An Unreasonable Woman: A True Story of Shrimpers, Politicos, Polluters, and the Fight for Seadrift, Texas, published by Chelsea Green Publishing Company. In the book Diane Wilson, a former fourth generation shrimp boat captain, wrote about her lawsuit against Formosa Plastics, a multibillion-dollar corporation and chemical company that was responsible for dumping ethylene dichloride, vinyl chloride among other pollutants in the Texas Gulf Coast. The book chronicled her struggle, including three hunger strikes and the near sinking of her boat, which led to winning her legal battle. Following her presentation, Mr. Wilson responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
