Connie Schultz talked about her memoir ...and His Lovely Wife: A Memoir from the Woman Beside the Man, published by Random House. She talked about life on the campaign trail with her husband, Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and how her marriage has changed her life. This event offering a look at political campaigns from a wife’s perspective was presented by the Truman Library in honor of former first lady Bess Wallace Truman’s 123rd birthday. Margaret Truman had died two weeks previously. Ms. Schultz talked about the biography that Margaret Truman had written of her mother and talked about her own mother. She also compared her life as a politician’s wife to Mrs. Truman’s life. She responded to questions from members of the audience. close
