The fourth of C-SPAN and Roll Call newspaper’s five-day earmark report continued

with a look at new earmark disclosure rules offered by House Democrats that became law in 2007.

Paul Singer talked about efforts to impose a moratorium on all earmarks in spending bills, as well as efforts to change or modify the earmarks process.

Appearing by remote access, Representative Tim Ryan talked about his support of the congressional earmark process, the new disclosure rules, and why he feels most earmarks are worthwhile.

Senator Tom Coburn talked about his effort to eliminate earmarks in appropriations bills. Sen. Coburn supports a moratorium on earmarks & has introduced amendments to strip specific earmarks from various spending bills. close
