Hemanshu Nigam made an opening keynote address, and Deborah Taylor Tate and Pamela Jones Harbour also made remarks at a forum in the new Newseum building. They spoke about children and online safety issues. Among the topics addressed were safety education for parents and children, preventing predatory practices via the Internet, law enforcement practices, and technological developments to enhance child safety.
