Officials spoke to the press and answered questions about a cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe and Southern Africa, as well as responses to the health crisis. They talked about increased commitments by U.S. and international aid organizations in response to the outbreak. They also commented on President Mugabe’s earlier remarks that the cholera outbreak had stopped, saying that the remarks were troubling and that diplomats were concerned about political interference in humanitarian missions. close
