Vali Nasr talked about his book Forces of Fortune: The Rise of the New Muslim Middle Class and What It Will Mean for Our World (Free Press; September 15, 2009). In his book he discusses the problems the West faces with the Middle East and argues that by building strong ties to the new, pragmatic business class that is emerging in Muslim countries, the West can create strong new alliances in the region. Vali Nasr is a professor of international relations at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, an adjunct senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a senior fellow of The Dubai Initiative at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.

He was interviewed at the 32nd Annual National Press Club Book Fair and Authors' Night, a fundraiser for the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library held Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. close
