Dr. Ardis Hoven talked about the impact of the Affordable Care Act on doctors and others in the medical profession. She said the American Medical Association approved of many elements of the health care law, and was “all-in-all a good thing,” but imperfect and needing improvements. Topics included projected primary care physician shortages, and her American Medical Association group’s opposition to the House-passed “doc fix” legislation that would be paid for by repealing the ACA’s individual mandate.

“Doc fix” is the formula used for paying doctors under Medicare. close
