The Federal Communications Commission held an open meeting during which they discussed rules dealing with the wireless spectrum auction. Commissioners voted 3-2 in favor of limiting the amount of spectrum the two largest mobile carriers, AT&T & Verizon, could buy in the 2015 spectrum auction. In a party-line vote, Chair Wheeler and the commission’s two Democrats approved a plan that would reserve a part of the spectrum in each market for wireless carriers that do not have a large amount of low-frequency spectrum in that area. close
