Steffen Schmidt previewed the February 1, 2016, Iowa caucuses and talked about the history of Iowa’s first-in-the-nation status and the role of the Hawkeye State in presidential elections. He talked about how this year’s caucus was similar and different from previous years. Topics included the candidates' ground games. He talked about how he felt the Clinton campaign fell behind because of organizational problems and the appeal of Donald Trump. He responded to telephone calls and electronic communications, including a telephone line reserved for Iowa voters, from the temporary C-SPAN studio in Des Moines.

The program concluded with a video clip of Tom Hudson being interviewed about the presidential candidates who had come to the CrossRoads Shooting Sports facility in Johnston, Iowa. close
