The House Budget Committee continued its markup of its fiscal year 2018 concurrent budget resolution. In this portion, Rep. Mark Sanford (R-SC) offered an amendment aimed at changing the way the Internal Revenue Service deals with tax write-offs, but withdrew it because it wasn’t agreed to as part of the committee’s earlier pact on offering amendments. Committee members briefly debated that decision, then continued voted on amendments to the legislation, and moved on to vote on the resolution itself, which was reported favorably to the U.S. House along party lines, with 22 Republicans in support and 14 Democrats in opposition. close
