Senator Sanders (I-VT) and others spoke on the Senate floor about the Republican legislation intended to replace the Affordable Care Act. Senator Sander said there was a need for a single-payer health care system in the U.S. The chamber rejected single payer health care. All 52 Republicans and four Democrats, Senators Donnelly (D-IN), Heitkamp (D-ND), Manchin (D-WV), and Tester (D-MT), voted no. Senator Angus King (I-ME) also voted no. 42 Democrats and Senator Sanders voted present. This was an incomplete airing. close
