The House Rules Committee met to consider amendments and vote on a rule for the remaining fiscal year 2018 federal spending bills, H.R. 3354, the Make America Secure and Prosperous Appropriations Act of 2018. In this first portion of the hearing, the Appropriations Committee Chair Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-NJ) and Ranking Member Nita Lowey (D-NY) as well as the leadership from several appropriations subcommittees testified about their work to craft the bills that were to be included in the so-called minibus package. close
