Former White House communication officials discussed their experiences working with former presidents and the Trump administration’s relations with the press. Among the issues were transparency and access, messaging styles of former presidents, and the State Department’s role in communicating the administration’s foreign policy. Speakers included former White House Deputy Press Secretary Tony Fratto, who served under George W. Bush, and Jen Psaki who was the Obama White House Communications Director as well as a State Department spokesperson. The event was part of a seminar hosted by the Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars. close
