Legal and policy experts talked about the increase in hate crimes against transgenders, immigrants, and those of certain religious groups, and why many of these crimes go unreported. Speakers included representatives from the Transgender Law Center, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

This event was the third panel of U.S. Commission on Civil Rights day-long public briefing on hate crimes and other bias-related incidents. close
